Use lighting to your advantage. This is especially crucial if your party will flow into the evening hours. Remember the mood you are trying to create. Utilize different types of lighting styles that blend well together. This is a great way to draw people to linger near your lit up garden. The right lighting can compel people inside. Strands of lights look beautiful draped around trees, walkways and decks. Lanterns bring a certain warmth to the night. Liven up the party with eclectic lighted pots, ceramic art work or flashing lights. Use colored lights to draw focus to an area.

Follow a theme with surprise elements. Put extra attention to where your guests will arrive. Design an innovative display that catches the eye and beckons a warm welcome. What you use should be artistically arranged. Use small splashes of color that coordinates with the overwhelming decor. These little differences will create interest. Make sure that these surprises are not overdone. The tone you are going for is subtle and light. Much thought should be put into the location of these items. Walk around your party area to get a feel for how your guests will see things. (more…)

While it is likely not all reviews will be positive no matter how good a company is, look at the tone of the reviews overall. This applies to reviews of any company, including Nationwide Relocation Services reviews. Look at what they do right.

Want to know even more helpful packing tips? Check out Part 1 of Ahead of the Pack: Packing Tips for a Smooth Move Part 1 from Nationwide Relocation Services.

How to Pack

When you begin packing, think toward moving day. You don’t want to pack up something you may need before you move. The things that you will still be using up until time to move, pack on the last day.

Wrapping

Wrap belongings carefully and firmly pack, and cushion well. Before packing a box, layer the bottom with several inches of crushed paper for cushioning. Wrap each belonging individually with clean paper, paper towels, Kleenex or tissue paper. For extra protection you can then layer again with newspaper. You may want to write on the item what it is. Make sure you pack largest, heaviest items in the bottom and the smaller, light items in the top. As you layer the items, fill in any gaps with crushed paper, towels or wash clothes for additional cushioning. Make sure there are not empty spaces and everything is protected well. (more…)
