Utilize different types of lighting styles that blend well together. This is a great way to draw people to linger near your lit up garden. The right lighting can compel people inside. Strands of lights look beautiful draped around trees, walkways and decks. Lanterns bring a certain warmth to the night. Liven up the party with eclectic lighted pots, ceramic art work or flashing lights. Use colored lights to draw focus to an area.

Follow a theme with surprise elements. Put extra attention to where your guests will arrive. Design an innovative display that catches the eye and beckons a warm welcome. What you use should be artistically arranged. Use small splashes of color that coordinates with the overwhelming decor. These little differences will create interest. Make sure that these surprises are not overdone. The tone you are going for is subtle and light. Much thought should be put into the location of these items.
